Ivory Coast to Face Madagascar in Africa can Qualifier

The most valued tournament of the African Continent is the Africa Cup of Nations. This is one of the oldest championships in the football world. The tournament has been organized since 1957. From the year 1968, this tournament was decided to be organized in an interval of 2 years. Ivory Coast is going to face Madagascar in their third match of Group K to confirm a slot in the main tournament to be held in 2022. The qualifier tournament of the 2022 tournament is going on and most of the teams of the African Continent are taking part in it.

40 teams of the African continent are fighting to have a place in the main tournament. These teams have been divided into 10 groups and they have to play with each team twice in the group. Ivory Coast has played two of their six matches where they have won 1 match and have lost one. Ivory Coast defeated Niger 1-0 in their first match whereas they lost to Ethiopia 2-1. Now they have to face Madagascar twice within 4 days in a home and an away match. These two matches will decide whether they are going to play in the main tournament or they will have to sit back and watch other teams play.

The match will start at 7 p.m. as per the GMT on 12th November 2020. The match will be held at Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara in Abidjan. Ivory Coast has already started making the team strong by summoning the defender from Wolverhampton Wanderers Willy Boly. He will be joined by Sebastian Haller from West Ham United to play for the Ivory Coast national team. Boly is a French-born player who has represented France in all the age-wise national teams. Now he will play for Ivory Coast after FIFA clearance.
