JOHNSTONE SET FOR FREE TRANSFER EXIT

West Brom are resigned to losing first choice goalkeeper Sam Johnstone on a free transfer next summer according to the Daily Mail. It was reported that the England international will most likely leave the Baggies when his contract ends in the summer of 2021.

Several teams were keen on signing the England shot stopper in the summer when he had one year left on his contract but the Baggies slapped a £20m asking price on him and that led to the end of the interest in him from Premier League clubs. English top flight sides such as Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, former club Manchester United, West Ham United and Southampton were all on the trail of the England shot stopper this summer.

East Londoners West Ham United were the only team to make a concrete bid for Johnstone, but it was not enough to secure his transfer. The Hammers offered £10m for the England senior national team shot stopper, but it was a long way from the asking price from West Brom. In the end, the Hammers settled for French international Alphonse Areola on a season-long loan deal from Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in his native France. Areola has adequate Premier League experience having spent last season on loan at Fulham from PSG. The West Ham loanee was a consistent performer for the Cottagers whom he could not prevent from demotion to the Championship.

The destination of Johnstone next summer is far from clear, but it’s almost certain that he would have a lot of clubs on his trail as a potential free transfer acquisition.

At the moment, Johnstone is with the England squad ahead of the World Cup qualifiers with Albania and San Marino. He’s one of three goalkeepers in the squad alongside Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale and Everton player Jordan Pickford.

Although gaming might seem to be something for young people, it is actually an activity that cuts across the generations. While younger people certainly do enjoy spending time playing the latest games, those from older generations also value this way of staying entertained. This is easy to understand when you consider how varied gaming is now and the way that it has something to offer everyone.

You can, for example, stick to video gaming if you like or branch out into other areas such asonline casino play. This more recent innovation has breathed new life into the sector and seen lots of people use iGaming sites to have fun. The best NJ online casinos show why this is true and have lots to offer players. Resorts Casino is the pick of the bunch and carries a wide choice of games thatgive something for every generation to enjoy.

While the various generations are united in their love for playing games, it is true to say that they share different habits. What do some of the most prominent generations like to do when sitting down for a session?

Millennials

Known as the ‘global generation’, Millennials are people born between the early 1980s and mid-1990s. It is thought that about 80% of Millennials game regularly and play for around six hours, 50 minutes per week on average. This generation particularly likes to play mobile games, but also values console/PC gaming. They also like to watch other people playing games on platforms such as Twitch. This generation seems to enjoy casino games (such as 21st-century roulette games) and also titlessuch asFIFA, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto and Fortnite.

Generation Z

Also known as ‘digital natives’, Gen Z includes people born between the mid-1990s and early2010s. It is also thought that a high percentage of this generation likes to play games. They also seem to follow the same broad tastes in gaming as Millennials – with titles such as FIFA and Call of Dutybeing popular. Gen Z,though, seems to like the social and community aspect of gaming more. This sees people in Generation Z get as much ofa buzz from chatting on gaming sites as they do playing.

Baby Boomers

Baby Boomers are interesting to look at in comparison with the above, as they are an older generation. Not as many Baby Boomers play games regularly, and this generation only averages two hours, 30 minutes of gaming time per week. It is also thought that Baby Boomers spend less money on gaming than younger generations. This is because they do not focus exclusively on itfor entertainment. This generation often likes games thatrequire deeper thinking, such as puzzles.

Different habits across the gaming generations

It is perhaps not surprising to hear that the various generations have different tastes and habits when it comes to gaming. When you also factor in how Gen X and Generation Alpha like to play, it gets even more interesting.
